National Press Club Journalism Awards

Journalism takes us places we might not otherwise see, leads us to people we might not otherwise meet, and prompts us to capture experiences we might not otherwise document. And journalists often carry those stories with them long after they are published. Whether you travel across the country or across the street for work, “You Are Here” is here for you. The National Press Club seeks to recognize and honor professional journalists who produced outstanding work for the public, either independently or as employees of editorially independent news entities. The National Press Club Journalism Institute promotes a transparent global society through an independent and free press, and equips journalists with modern tools to inspire civic engagement and inform the public. This non-profit affiliate of the National Press Club, based in New Delhi serves as a beacon for journalistic credibility and integrity around India.

Journalism Skills for Beginners

The Institute provides innovative, practical training to journalists and communications professionals. National Press Club strives to shine a light on barriers to press freedom in India and abroad and works to leverage the National Press Club’s unique presence and resources to highlight press freedom issues. They offer a competitive scholarship program that promotes diversity and supports dozens of bright young journalists at journalism schools nationwide. National Press Club organizes prestigious awards that recognize professional journalists who have produced outstanding work for the public, either independently or as employees of editorially independent news organizations and the judges will give weight to demonstration of individual enterprise, fairness, accuracy and objectivity. The Institute is supported by individuals, foundations, corporations and support from the National Press Club through a portion of member dues.
